Sheikh Khalifa Presidential Award and Scholarship (2019)

The Sheikh Khalifa Presidential Award and Scholarship is given annually to one student from the College of Engineering at American University of Sharjah. It is the highest honor that an undergraduate student at AUS can receive, and recognizes the following:
– Academic Excellence
– Demonstrated Talent in the Field of Study
– Service to the Community
– Participation in Extracurricular and University Activities
– Leadership Potential
The award is sponsored by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.

The Chancellor’s Scholar Award and Scholarship (2015)

The Chancellor’s Scholar Award is highly competitive and awards one incoming freshman student with a full scholarship for their undergraduate study. The student must maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.3 to sustain the scholarship. The conditions for winning the award as found on the university website are:
– Outstanding personal qualities and leadership abilities in school and community
– Scientific or literary contributions to the community
– Special school or community honors and awards
– Community service and school extracurricular activities
– A minimum average of 95% in the last three years of secondary education

Accenture Sustainability Global Hackathon (2017)

The Accenture Digital Hackathon was conducted in 2017 on a global scale with participating countries from Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and North America. The objective of the competition was to design a product that addresses any of the themes of opportunity, mobility and sustainability.

I lead a team of engineers under the team name #OASIS to develop a comprehensive solution for household water consumption by designing a smart water utility meter that seamlessly integrates with existing systems to measure and control the water usage at homes.

The project was placed:
Regional Round (United Arab Emirates): First Place
Local Round (Middle East and Europe): First Place
Global Round: Third Place

8 Deans’ Lists and 4 Chancellors’ Lists (2015-2019)

Students are placed on the Dean’s List for maintaining a Semester GPA of 3.50 or above.

If a student achieves the Dean’s List for a consecutive Fall and Spring Semester, they are then placed on the Chancellor’s List.

Unilever Youth Entrepreneur Award Runner-Up (2017)

The Unilever Hackathon was organized in October 2017. A regional competition, it tested the problem-solving and entrepreneurial skills of participating students by asking students to design a system that tackles one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

I lead a team of engineers to develop the concept of a water consumption meter that incorporates the paradigms of machine learning and the Internet of Things. The idea was named “Hardware to Optimize (H2O)”, and won runner-up position for the Youth Entrepreneur Award.
